Busuu: Language Learning App Reviews

Totally upset with this user unfriendly app: hangs up; no support; no way to cancel subscription.

I loved the way it teaches language, and of course the idea of helping others... The only problem is that its not syncing with the website...

I downloaded this app to have access to Arabic. This was one of the few apps I have found that actually offers it as a language course. I made my account, skipped the premium option and began learning. Layout and overall feel is awesome! Very sleek design and very intuitive and user friendly interface. My problem however, lies with the "push the premium" mind frame that American corporations have adopted and refuse to let up on. After 1 lesson in Arabic I was prompted 5 times for premium to the point where when I opened the app it automatically takes me to a screen asking me to select another language and then prompts me to purchase premium. Normally, on a reasonable app there is a way to close out or cancel a window like this. Nope, not is Busuu. The "X" box DOES NOT work on my phone and I have an iPhone 6+ (fully updated). It seems the only way to continue my journey in Arabic is to go premium, which WILL NOT BE HAPPENING, it is complete bull that you advertise and release an app for free and then basically try to force someone to pay for it, when you give them the option of "free to learn." I will NEVER endorse or support companies such as this. DO NOT DOWNLOAD! WASTE OF TIME!

This is a easy and faster way to learn languages

I would like to learn American English, not britannic English

Cool app! I actually enjoy doing some of the exercises. Me gusta y estoy tratando de aprender Portugues.

Mandarin is hard. I would recommend Buusu as additional support to a traditional text and teacher.

I want to learn Korean!! Why is it not here?

I LOVE busuu. But to get 5 stars, it would be nice to have a review of the previous chapters after each, or a big test now and then. And I miss my busuu garden. Other than that, great stuff!

I chose Japanese as my language...it set the language to learn as French. I did not ask to learn French.

Its really good apps , but cant download offline to non premium members .so adding this may be make more users & thats increase chance to be a premium members

I try to learn turkish, but through english, i really need arabic support.

I am learning Spanish, but only for Latin America, not Spain. There is no way to "turn-off" the "vosotros" stuff, so this part is annoying and wasting my time. As a result, I use other apps and not this one.

Phenomenal! This app and the website the goes with it have really helped me with my languages. Im learning French, Italian, and German and Busuu has really helped me by actually explaining how the language works.

The app was great before, and now it is even better! Interactive, give and receive feedback from native speakers. Fun study tool, so it makes it easy to study frequently! That is key to learning--short, frequent exposure is better than long but infrequent. Can download for offline practice later. Love it! Reacquainted with old study buddies on busuu!

Past signing in, the app will not let me learn or utilize anything. It only asks whether I want to learn another language (upgrade) and will not let me close the window. If I could actually use the app I might have given it more stars-think I will just stick with Duolingo.

I love this App it makes studying Spanish so fun and I am really learning:)
